Ticket
808 State
Hardrock Concert Theatre
19th October 1975

Ticket for Tangerine Dream.
The only time i went to the Hardrock (quite hard to get to for me at the age of 14) This was the Rubicon tour and it was in Quadraphonic which was fairly rad back then.Infact the synth band was a strikingly different concept,I remember drawing
various synth band set ups in my rough book at school for months afterwards and trying to find out what these mysterious instruments like a VCS3 and an elka rhapsody were.Could well have led on to my later keyboard addiction in 808 state.
The album Rubicon was advertised heavily on Piccadily Radio
at the time this was most odd ,but i guess they were trying to push it into being another Tubular Bells success.(it was on Virgin records) worked for me . this gig could have been 75?

“This would be 1975.

Rubycon was issued March 1975.

October 19th 1975 was a Sunday (Oct 19th 1974 wasn't).”
“thanks have amended that..”
“The Hardrock was a pain to get back from to Levenshulme for sure. Speaking of VCS3's.I saw Roxy Music (Brian Eno was still with them) and Hawkwind, both resulted in long walks home and missed days from work. It had to be something pretty special to warrant the trip.”
“I'd walk from Great Stone Road to Levvy to see someone rocking out on a VCS3 through a loud PA anyday.”
“Top Man”
“What I should have said was "run Forrest run" of course”
“Omg, I was there for that concert. Happy memories.”
