Flyer
Joy Division, The Risk (1), Emergency
Mayflower Club
20th May 1978

A Flyer for a gig at the Mayflower that I am guessing is from 1978. I saw a few bands at the Mayflower around this time including The Damned in October '78, The Lurkers supported by Skrewdriver, which was an evening of spit and blood as the skinheads made their presence felt, and in November The Vibrators, supported by Eddie and the Hot Rods, and One Way Subway. I also saw Joy Division here at the 'Stuff the Superstars' all dayer on July 28th 1979....a great day out! One thing that was always a talking point at the Mayflower were the toilets, which were more like a paddling pool but not filled with water...if you get my meaning. A great venue for it's time, hot n sweaty!

“how big is this flyer? and is it black and white as shown? there are large bright orange posters for this gig- there's one up on the wall in vinyl revival.”
“The flyer is A4 ish in size and is black and white. I have noticed that there is a bit missing from the top of this upload. Above 'Live on stage' it reads - S.Bowe & D.Cartldge Present.”
“I'll put up an original orange version. (NB Emergency later changed their name to Foreign Press)”
“yes please...”
