A 1990 flyer for a rave at Trentham, Staffs.

I loved the way rave flyers got really serious... this one reads;
"Once again the mighty Pulse continues to rule. Only the mighty Pulse can provide the fantasy and power. The subordinates and plebians attempt but dismally fail... share with the disciples the mayhem of the armagedon. Louder than the sweet thunder of destruction, brighter than the consuming knowledge of power. All this the seeker shall find. This is the calling."

Blimey! i suspect the owners of Trentham country hall were pretty close to pulling out once they read that! Were the four horsemen of the apocalypse Djing?

Also, the way they started to advertise the types and sizes of lghting rigs and PA systems! This one boasts '2 life size video screens' (as opposed to what? Tvs?) and best of all... '50,000 watts of 6 channel asymith conversion sound'!
