Phenomenon One was the first 'Jungle' night in the city centre, at least of any significance. There had been events outside at the PSV but Manchester Police did not tend to allow Jungle nights because they were considered trouble - and there was some truth in that. This was the only night I'm aware of at The Hacienda, so there might have been an issue. I do remember the flames caused by spray deoderant and lighters..and a distinct smell of burning hair.. but it was a great night. not sure exactly who was on the line up except Kemistry and Storm, Grooverider, Roni Size and Bryan Gee.
