Ida Carroll, Hilda Collens
Northern School Of Music (NSM)
1957

This was a speech given in September 1957 by Ida Gertrude Carroll to welcome new students to the Northern School of Music, she has included hymns and bible readings throughout the speech.

In her speech Ida Gertrude Carroll talks about the schools founder Hilda Collens, who started the school with only two students in one room, almost 37 years later the school had grown to have 650 students.

She ends by asking the students to remember Hilda Collens “Who planted in fertile soil the seed of music and dedicated her life’s work to god and the furtherance of her art”.
