Elsa Mary Carroll (1898-1993, founder of the Withington Girl Guide Company) here updates family friend Daisy Cousins on her life. The photo she refers to likely one of her with her MBE medal. She also references the Woolworth's fire in Manchester that year, saying she saw the smoke start from the Kendal Milne restaurant windows on Deansgate (now the House of Fraser building).
