RAW ECT performing @ The Hacienda on a local band night competition in 1984. Robert Powell was invited to do a guest appearance with the band as he had an idea for some special effect vocals that he wanted to try out on the opening track of the set called Love Prime. This track is the only part of the video left from the original video recording of the whole set that night. We did win the competition amazingly. For all of you out there that knew Rob well will know that they he is sadly no longer with us now and so I think it is a fitting tribute to him. Plus a good way to remember him by. R.I.P
Sadly the video does not capture Alan Wilson on Keyboards that night which was organised by the Hacienda and not the Band. Had the person filming thought to capture the whole Band on the footage would now make this little bit of music history a double gem after we have now lost another member of this band in 2024. A great keyboard player and musical soul. R.I.P. Alan. The best Balsa bashing, Computer programming. Ivory tickling, Ballroom dancing, Skateboarder i ever knew. Sam x
