Letter
Charles Hallé
1893

Sir Charles Hallé considering the proposed timetable of the Royal Manchester College of Music and then considers the difficulties of naming the college. There is a committee involved. This could have gone on for years. He wants "Royal Conservatoire of Music" because apparently "everyone knows what a conservatoire means and we should, I believe, be the only one in the Kingdom". Sure sure sure.
He also would like the Prince of Wales involved but if he can't make it, would settle for the Duke of York. He's not fussy.
