Back then, I always found that Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve in town, were rubbish.

As great as it sounded to go out in town, the majority of people stayed local or at home, and those nights were too much effort to get there, surrounded by people that didn't normally go out, and the only people that benefitted were taxi drivers.
