In May 1992 Eight Records and 3 Beat Records ran a night showcasing the best of Liverpool music at the Academy. Selling Liverpool to a Manchester crowd at the height of Madchester was always going to be a hard sell and the crowd was small. However, it was a good night and some of the performers got into the spirit of it by coming off stage and singing in the middle of the dancefloor.
