a pissed Alan Hempsall and sober Colin Seddon in the back of a Transit going to some gig or other. I can remember stopping at the cash till in Levenshulme to get money to buy more beer. I think we were going to Band on the wall and I was hoping to get in free by arriving with the band. No wonder Alan never got the job with Joy Division (far too jolly perchance?) It might have been the Tongues/Ram Ram Kino gig.

well documented..He s the sort of person that knows the third and forth verse to all kinds of songs instantly.
Alan wrote an article called something like my day out with Joy Division for a sci fi mag,it was re published recently in Flux Magazine. Its based arounda day in Pennine studios recording .

It looks realy odd these days as drinking and smoking wouldnt be allowed in videos today where as it was part of breathing back then.(lowenbrau Pils in the black and white can)
