“i'm a bit confused by the beach club... was oozits simply the name of the night or the venue?”

“Oozits was the name of the venue - The Beach Club was the name of the night.

I saw a few bands there around 1980, including The Backroom Boys (Colin Thorpe - later of Chapter & The Verse).

Oozits was in a big old warehouse or office block, and was on two floors I think - the sort of venue with signed photos of Val Doonican...

I suspect it was on or near the site of the present-day tram station on Shudehill.”
