Stuart Adamson (RIP) of Big Country/Skids was born in Stretford. Somewhere I've got one of those orange "It's at Virgin" record bags autographed and amended (by this very influential guitarist - ask The Edge) to read "Stuart Adamson is a Virgin" circa 1980, signed behind the Apollo.
