The Hacienda

last night i was looking through some of my vinyl and i wanted to play something i haven't heard for ages. i pulled out a copy of the woodentops first (and brilliant!) lp and out fell this flyer.

in the absence of jon savage's hacienda book, the date is a guess but i remember the night quite well. i remember tracey thorn and ben watt (i also loved the first everything but the girl lp) and i remember the woodentops - they were ace. the drummer used to wear shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and play standing - he was great viewing!

i think there were special badges handed out, and condoms too but i cant find my badge. i was stood right at the front. the woodentops were a fantastic live band and i saw them a few times, although i never saw them support the smiths.

it says on the flyer that this was in association with Dave Haslam's debris magazine...
