1992

The Brochure cover from July 1992. The highlights included Olodum, a 20 piece Brazilian Afro Bloc group, The Yellow Jackets and Barney Kessel, a guitarist who played with every one from Billie Holiday, Elvis and Charlie Parker. This was also the month that the great Ali Farka Toure appeared at the venue

A number of Mancunian bands appeared but as of yet I am unsure who is local and who isn't with the exception of the bands tagged. C-Charge were always particularly good.

“freedom masses live were a roots reggae band, made up of mainly mancs, they played on a regular basis, usually fridays, the band didnt last long enough in my opinon, due to the fact they had such a huge lineup, up to ten plus!!! the freedom masses sound system still going strong.”
