My first gig after starting University. The Apollo was great as all the major bands played there and it was walking distance from the university. Hawkwind were promoting their Levitation album and Ginger Baker was their drummer at the time. Hadn't realised I'd seen a drumming legend that night! Support was a metal band called Vardis.
