I went to this night purely by chance. i was meant to be working late but managed to get the work done early, so i was on my way home and i thought i'd call my girlfriend. she was at kro bar at a gig and i decided to join her. luckily it was all running late so i didn't miss antthing (well.... sort of... read on)

i've seen My Side... (top photo) before and i like them. on this night they were very good. The guy wearing the green cap is the bloke from Magic Arm who i think are excellent. the band gave out this free cd (pictured). which was nice.

the next band were tim and sam... (bottom photo) - i'd not heard them before and i suspect their recordings are rather good. but here it was a bit painful because there were a lot of instruments all slightly out of tune with each other which was a shame as the songs sounded ok. i can see where they're coming from, and i like the idea but they need a bit more in the tuning skills to come over live better.

At swim... also played (posted separately) as did The Pony... but alas by this time i was chatting in the downstairs bar (which had totally run out of every draught beer). apologies to The Pony - i'm told they are excellent and really i should have stayed but... well, you know.
