Poster
Doves
6th October 1999

Just as Doves were starting to get known they did a handful of gigs at the Heavenly Socials- one in London and one in Nottingham. This one was with Turin Breaks and was absolutely packed to the rafters. Doves played a near-acoustic set. The odd picture on the poster is copied from the very first promotional item the band had made through Robs Records, a short video (an Electronic Press Kit or EPK). The picture is taken from some super8 film shot of Andy and Jez on Harlech beach around New Years eve 1996. They are actually standing into the wind which is holding them upright it was so strong... hence their strange position!
