A Certain Ratio, Crispy Ambulance, The Durutti Column, New Order, Section 25
1981

The very rare Factory Benelux VHS called 'A Factory Complication'.

It comes in a printed PVC outer casing and features the following:

A CERTAIN RATIO - Back to the Start
SECTION 25 - New Horizon
NEW ORDER - Everything's Gone Green (live)
CABARET VOLTAIRE - Sluggin' For Jesus
DURUTTI COLUMN - Marie Louise Gardens
CRISPY AMBULANCE - The Presence
ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK - Electricity (live)
CABARET VOLTAIRE - No Escape
NEW ORDER - Truth (live)

New Order doing an early version of 'Everything's Gone Green' is well worth the price of admission, featuring Barney doing a bit of mic head-banging and various other improvisations. It can be seen in all it's glory, along with a few other tracks from this VHS, on the 'Umbrellas In The Sun' DVD on LTM.

“I loved this tape when it came out, really exciting to see all these cool Factory bands! Well 25 years ago it was anyway. What was more amazing was that it took 25 years for the master audio tape of the New Order set this footage is taken from (L'Ancienne Belgique, Brussels 15/5/81) to materialise, until recently we only had the audio from these two tracks. Presumably the full video of the New Order set may exist somewhere, seeing as Truth and EGG were far apart in the set?”
“Nice item, and a good attempt at bringing some style to the big, clunky VHS format.”
