“by '91 the hardcore scene was coming in a big way, drum & bass too... (btw when did konspiracy close?)”
“coming after the Gallery sadly closed; my real dj name was john tracy this was often mispelt on flyers, I have fond memories of this club when it was PIPS Fennel St, the multi room specialist scene was unique in the late 70's”

“I think wer'e all in agreement. Better than the Hacienda, second only to the Thunderdome. Shady as hell, but that was part of the fun in those days. I loved the upstairs ... great times. Does anyone remember the guy in the basement who played a blues organ? Think he lasted about 3 weeks! Favourite tune: Rythmatic's 'Take me Back': sub base with bleeps!”

“The guy you talk about who played live jazz and blues in the basement was Victor Brox! He actually had a slot there ever Friday night for over 8 months or so. But because the basement was so hard to find, even more difficult to remember where it was once you had found it a lot of people didn't even know it existed. He was brilliant! Bringing the blues to a rave club each Friday was definitely unique. M.M.”

“John Tracy. I remember PIPS very well. I think most people who were fortunate enough to have been around 1976>>1979 and into the new wave of punk/Bowie and Roxy music and the rest must have enjoyed PIPS as there was nothing quite like it back then. Or even a decade later when we opened it as the KONSPIRACY! A dream come true for me at least. Still had my name carved into the wall of the caves. And Al 10! Actually found out who the guy was that had the sign under his bed. My friend Glynn Broadhurst (sharing admin with me on MANCHESTER.OLDSKOOL.RAVERS. Group) he still has it. ????”
