Poster
The Electric Circus
19th December 1976

Poster featuring Jamie Reid 'Anarchy In The UK' artwork, promoting the Sex Pistols gig at The Electric Circus in December 1976. This was part of 'The Anarchy Tour' which had been banned by many councils across the country. EMI had to hastily produce some posters for the gig as it was arranged at very short notice as most of the tour had been cancelled after The Pistols infamous appearance on 'The Today Show', when television announcer Bill Grundy provoked the band into using obscenities on daytime television. One of these posters recently sold for £960 in 2010.

“Did you attend this gig? Do you have any further information I could include or perhaps a quote from you I could include? If not- do you know of anyone who does? I think it would be really interesting for people to read about!”

“I'd love to help Lauren but I'm afraid I missed this. I just stumbled across a framed copy of the poster many years later.”

“I here that this poster is questionable and in fact was never actually used to promote the gig but printed a while after the event. I own a copy that I found on eBay about ten years ago.”

“As Gnash says above, I'd love it if someone could confirm these were actually seen in the run up to the gig”
