Numerous items from the DTroit exhibition commissioned by Urbis in the summer of 2004.
Although the exihibtion centred on Detroit's incredible creative output amidst troubles and hardship, there are numerous similarities made with Manchester.
Notably, a short film by Elliot Eastwick; ‘The Sounds of Two Cities’, featuring a number of interviews with those influential in the cities respective musical history — including Johnny Marr and Derrick May. A DVD of the documentary's highlights is included with the programme.
Part of the expo included a carousel of iPods, stacked with key tracks during the respective era of Detroit's music scene — from the 1950's to the present day. Virtually every song was a killer tune, and a testament to the city's creative talent.
