“what a gig! i've never seen so many cups on the floor after a gig in my life... we must have drunk longsight dry!”
“Who was the support to the Roses at this?

(Need to link this to Toss the Feathers also.)”
“i don't remember who the support was! i don't really remember much except i loved it and the plastic cups at the end...”
“I saw the Roses at International 1 around the time of Sally Cinammon - 87. They played there several times that year but I think it was 26th June - a Friday. I was suprised at the big crowd and the very male...stripped shirt, sitting on shoulders vibe with a gothish-manc crossover which reminded me of Chameleons gigs.

Whichever date it was, we were there again the very next night as an early incarnation of Primal Scream played - Bobby still in his paisley shirt with a psychedelic light show. Ian Brown was back again also - checking them out, sat quietly by the bar unaccosted.

He hadn't yet acquired his dark green flared chords, all wet and trodden down at the back, which he would be wearing every time I saw him knocking around Chorlton - Safeways usually.”
“hey tony- i was at both of those gigs too!

does anyone have any photos of the graffiti the Roses sprayed all up Palatine and Oxford Rd? I meant to take some pics of it myself- a lot of it was still there way after they became famous, but alas i think it's all gone now.

ps. the chameleons... c'mon where's some stuff by them on the site?”
“it's only me that's put any Chameleons up so far!”
“I was at the International II gig.

I remember someone threw up at the front right in the middle and the whole venue stank of sick.

All the 'moshers' at the front steered well clear...until the Roses took to the stage with I Wanna Be Adored and then no one cared and everyone piled in.”
“I've posted a review from the NME about the Roses gig at The International that Tony mentioned above, the gig was on 26th June '87. There's also another review for a gig at the International from Feb '87.”
“The support for the Roses at this gig was Dub Sex.”

“not really, more Bradford, though a later version of the band featured a Manchester based drummer (though not sure if he was at the time).”

“I was at that Mammoth gig! They had some dancing dwarves onstage sumo-wrestling who threw out sticks of rock with Mammoth written through them. Apart from that it was pretty rubbish!”
