Urbis
16th July 2006

Photopass for the SWAP (Songwriters and Performers) Festival which took place in Cathedral Gardens outside URBIS in 2006. It was a blisteringly hot day and I arrived early with the intention of photographing every single band and had told my husband to join me later with our relatively new baby. It was the first photo gig I had done since becoming a mum and I quickly realised it was far too unshaded for my family to sit about in all day so I told them not to come and set about working all day with no real breaks. I got stupidly hot, quite fed up and abandoned the festival after Sandi Tom played and went home. The security guard in the pit told me as I was leaving that Cherry Ghost were on soon and I should stay to photograph them but I was very hot, tired and hungry. Not only did I miss Cherry Ghost but also Liam Frost, Guy Garvey and I Am Kloot. Looking back it was a bit idiotic of me but at the time it seemed more important to be home.
