Artefact
The Bamford Blues Band were one of the first acts to play the newly re-opened Cavern Club in Liverpool in 1984. Left to right; Paul Bamford, Ian "Joe" Slater, Cliff Milner, Lynne Bamford, Duncan "Jim" Moore. Lynne always referred to Paul onstage as "the upside-down guitarist" as he plays a right-handed guitar in a left-handed manner without re-stringing or re-tuning. Here he is seen playing a left-handed Telecaster, but note that his back-up guitar is a regular right-handed Stratocaster. The great blues guitarist Albert King also played this way, but sadly that's where any comparison must end (sorry Paul... only joking ;-)).
