“this actually belongs to Tosh Ryan. He has some great stuff!”
“I worked in a godawful Wall's sausage factory in Hyde for a 18 months around 87 after dropping out of Uni. (A couple of the Jazz Defektors worked there too, I think.) Verdict: Sausages - just say no kids!

I used to get picked up and dropped off at ungodly hours outside "The Little Alex" pub next to the park.

Don't know if it's true or not, but I'm told that the pub gave its name to Alex, the anti-hero of local lad Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange, although he was from the other side of town. Anyone confirm? (Horrorshow? Or Yarbles?)”
“Interesting stuff. Everyone interested in Manchester's days-gone-by should read Anthony Burgess's 'Little Wilson and Big God'. He was seduced as a young teenager by a fat communist librarian in Central Library!”
“Tony-Anthony Burgess' dad used to play piano in The Big Alex which was on the corner of Moss Lane & Princess Rd. At the time Anthony Burgess' family had moved to Moss Lane East. My family had the Little Alex from '65 to '72.”
