Artefact
A tape from The Rob Gretton Archive.
This one is labelled 'Dreamy One 1+2' and features two versions of the 'Fine Time' single B-side 'Don't Do It'. It's working title seems to have been 'Dreamy One'.
Version one is the one we all know that was used on the release. Version two is a previously unheard 3'50 version complete with different 6 string bass parts and an alternative arrangement.

jsz, I'm not sure if you're aware of the set of '88 Technique demos that leaked out which included a minute-long 'work in progress' version of 'Don't Do It'. I'm wondering if this version is similar to the version two arrangement here.
Apparently, all the Technique session songs had titles along the same lines:
Balaeric One -> Fine Time, 8 Track one -> Vanishing Point, Disco One -> Mr. Disco, Funky One -> Guilty Partner, Gillian's Acoustic One -> Dream Attack, Housey One -> Round and Round, MT One -> All The Way (or maybe just 'MTO')?, The Happy One -> The Happy One, VU One -> Run (or Loveless?)
Don't know if 'Best & Marsh' ever got a working title...”
