Oasis
Maine Road (MCFC)

This was a great gig. Oasis playing Maine Rd. I've been to a few gigs at Maine Rd. I used to live right next to it firstly on Rosford Avenue and then Crofton Street. The houses that ran right against the stadium were sometimes offered free tickets. I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Prince and David Bowie here- all free. It was fairly easy to get in back then (late 80s) but at this Oasis gig it seemed pretty hard for those without tickets to get in. There were a lot of lads and trouble outside. A girl-friend of mine got her ticket snatched out of her hand and security didn't do anthing about it! It was a bit scary outside the stadium. I remember a gang of lads rushing one of the gates. I was glad to get inside.

I think support was the Manic Street Preachers.

A great gig. Oasis were on the top of their game and fan support was massive!
