Kings Hall (Belle Vue)
14th June 1972

I saw a few bands at King's Hall, Belle Vue. Joe Cocker, possibly the same summer as Richie Havens, and Joan Armatrading sometime in 1977 I think. It was an odd venue for music - cavernous and wooden. I am guessing it was very multipurpose. It was also well away from the city centre venues and students' union. I have often wondered how we bought tickets if you couldn't call into the venue, or the music and record shops who acted as agents. You could send off for them in the post!
