My introduction to Manchester's underground club culture (I was a late starter...), in a Hulme Irish social club full of skinny, sweaty students dancing on tables to house and techno, while old Irish ladies sat in the corner completely non-plussed, doing their knitting and selling soft drinks.

This was the 1st birthday party. No memory of it whatsoever. Must have been a blinder.
