This was an amazing experience... possibly my favourite gig of all time.

Nick was promoting 'Abbatoir Blues/ The Lyre of Orpheus' - one of my favourite albums of all time.

I'd managed to score guesties, so had an amazing seat in the front circle centre.

The combined sound of Nick, the Bad Seeds (with two drummers) and The London Community Gospel Choir was absolutely ferocious.

At one point a spotlight created a giant silhouette of Nick on the wall of the venue pointing his finger and railing at the audience like a deranged preacher. Accidental but incredibly powerful.

I remember noticing at the end of the gig that my hands were sore from clapping.
