The Durutti Column
22nd April 2013

Based on exclusive interviews, this article was published in The Big Issue in the North as part of my ongoing cultural history research on Factory Records. The Big Issue is sold by homeless people, so if you like this article, please consider buying a copy of the magazine from your local vendor.

I am particularly interested in the Durutti Column's work, and have discussed in other publications how this band have remained perhaps the closest to the original, praxis-based philosophy of Factory. I lecture in Cultural Studies and Music at Leeds Metropolitan University and can be contacted at j.mcgrath@leedsmet.ac.uk
